What is Lawrence Village at the Fort?

Lawrence Village at the Fort is a master planned mixed use community located inside the old Fort Benjamin Harrison military base, located in Lawrence, Indiana approximately 12 miles or 20 minutes from downtown Indianapolis. The Village project will include residential, commercial and retail offerings and is designed to be identifiable, walkable and sustainable. The Village is bounded by 56th Street to the south and 59th to the north, Post Road to the west and Lee Road to the east.

Infrastructure Construction 2009

A $9 million infrastructure construction project is in progress to support Lawrence Village at the Fort The infrastructure work will be complete at the end of 2009. The construction project includes new streets, landscaping, lighting, parks, signage, rain gardens, raised median planters, entrance columns and installation of all new underground utilities. Over 380 trees, 2,300 shrubs, and 23,000 perennials and groundcover will be planted. The new streets will include bike lanes and on-street parking.
